I test drove a 06' M5 yesterday and it was very impressive! A lot smoother than I expected on regular city roads. The jerkiness is a little annoying. I was running 90MPH in 4th Gear at only about 4,000 RPM, so I had 4,000 more RMP before redline. A very impressive car. Looking forward to buying it in a year or so

@diablostallionweezle you cant keep a fwd sideways,, you can only flick it sideways like this if you stay of the throttle the car will spin,, in RWD is the opposite you need to stay on the throttle to keep it sideways but too much will cause a spin.

While I was restoring mine I got onto "Frontline Spridget" who offer uprated performance parts for midgets/sprites (and obviously A30/A35/Minors since they share the same floorpan roughly), and got some of their uprated dampers and a rollbar kit. I drive my Girlfriends A30 (similar to a35 except smaller rear window). I love it except having long legs, I find the pedals painful to use and it feels very twitcy on conering - a bit like the front might tuck under and roll the car. Does yours do that too? or is it that our car needs the steering set up?

I kind of agree with you. Tiff is a gent, Clarkson is more of an in your face loutish tit. But one thing you do have to understand is that Clarkson is not like that. It is his television visage. An attitude to provide enertainment. He is in fact a very intelligent man, as is Tiff, they just have diffent approaches to entertaining audiences. I like them both. so why is this car still slower than the nissan gtr from 0-60. if your gonna pay a good $300k more, it should at least outperform the nissan gtr in acceleration. all this carbon fiber and more horsepower still doesnt seem to do much. its a great car and it is my favorite interior of any supercar, but still disappointing that its not faster than the gtr 0-60.

I know you was messing ;) Most of the comments I have seen about M3's are positive, I love mine and wouldn't change it for anything right now, but I like STI's too, they are cool, especially the 07's in black. The only negative comments you get on an M3 are from the racist arseholes who connect them with Asians (not the term they use - but I am sure you know!) and say they are bad because of that. By the way I use to have this video cause I wanted to learn this one move of Tiffs cause when he first pulled it off he did it in an Audi stationwagon in the wet and it was frikken amazing. @ViB33 I wouldnt try this in the wet, too slippery and you will most likely over spin the car and do a 540. The easiest way I learnt it was I broke it up into 2 moves then combined them. Practice doing a reverse 180 perfectly. Once you master that simply add it to the end of a scandinavian flick that turns the car the opposite way.

I use to practice this move in my mums car when i was a kid and ruined her steering rack lol. I pulled it off in the end but a few months later the steering rack fell apart so be warned. Practice this with a shit car and no you dont need heaps of horse power. The manouver uses momentum, it will take awhile to learn but you will eventually get it.

haha well you could hate them or not, but the general size of their engine compared to the car size governs whether doing that could break traction and in this case Tiff says so. Maybe he did kick the clutch, but he didn't say he did and I'm sure he would have.. either way it's just getting the wheels to break traction via incrasing the engine revs (and torque coming from engine to wheels), it's not like he's using any complicated weight-shifting manoeuvres to break traction

He's not clutchkicking or using inertia. Like he said, he is just applying full throttle very quickly and that gets the wheels to break traction - this car has enough torque for that to happen. Why complicate things?

Yes, as long as you don't own a Saxo VTS such as my sister's... the electronics on it are horrendous. I agree, but reliability and durability are two different things. I have been runnings XMs for about 12 years now, and although the Mk1 version was far from reliable the Mk2 is much better, but, generally they don't develop serious faults and if you keep repairing them they will keep going. The last one I sold had covered nerarly 300k miles and still drove beautifully on most original major components.

How is it valid to say that the ford would be better than the xm if you fitted different suspension parts? There's a lot of work to do to the ford just to make it similar, then someone tweaks the xm and it goes even faster, and still has smooth ride quality.

Your experience is your experience, and i'm not going to try to discredit it. However, all the citroens we've had (and additional ones owned by friends) have proved to be more reliable than bmws, audis, vws, a saab, renault, ford, and a couple of rovers owned by work colleagues and friends. Not only that, but a citroen with 100000 miles feels far newer than anything comparable with much less miles on.

the hydraulic suspension on citroens are rather effective and reliable, but the rest of the car isnt so durable, depending on what citroen it is obviously. but in general, citroens are not as reliable as fords (in my experience).
